Granite Bay Shovel Brigade: 3PM at corner of Grove & Union
Please join us this afternoon to help clear the storm drains in our neighborhood. Bring shovels and snow blowers if you have them. Goal=clear the drains before dark so that they are cleared before the rain tomorrow...minimize flooding/icing...BHS students, we will try to get you community service hours for your help. Please spread the word and join us. Hot Coco & Steamed Cider for all afterwards.

We need a map of the storm drains...I looked on Branford website but could not find...any suggestions?

All storm drains in the lower bay have been cleared. Not sure about the upper bay.

This is a great idea. If you can get us a file from the city with all of the lat lngs we can import them into SeeClickFix as open issues.

Ben,we tried to find specs re: location of the drains from town site but could not get them. So, we had to poke around with long poles until we found them. It would be great to have lat lngs available in future...also could not find all of the fire hydrants in the neighborhood...after the dust settles, i hope this is something we can address as a community.

I agree Kate. I'm going to try and ask Peter Hugret who just retired from City Hall in Branford. I'm trying to find out for New Haven as well.

Thanks, Ben. Peter Hugret is a great guy. If he can't help, he probably knows who can or has suggestions re; how we can move forward constructively as a community. In the meantime, thanks again for this site. Has been very helpful, informative and educational during this "episode."

This issue has been resolved.
Huge thanks to all who helped!
However, we do need to figure out how to find drains and hydrants during future storms.
